Life Update: Taking a little break

It´s time for another life update my friends. I can´t believe how fast the last year has gone by. Last September I moved with my partner to a tiny town near Paris, so he can do his MBA studies. While the year has been one of the most intense ones due to the pandemic and everything that has been going on with it, I would say it was still one of the best ones. I´m so grateful that we were able to experience this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity together and for all the amazing people we met. I literally made friends from all around the world like the Philippines, Canada, Mexico, Slovenia and many many more. While I wish the year would have just started and that we could experience it, without any restrictions, I´m also really excited for the next chapter.

Moving Abroad … Again

While I can work as an author from almost everywhere in the world, my partner has some more specific spots, where he can build up a successful career. In the last few months, he applied to some different countries. While I´m writing this, he´s in his last week of university now. We got some job offers in the last weeks and have to make a big life decision, where we want to move to. Our top four places were Switzerland, the Netherlands, the UK and Chile.

Taking A Little Break

As you can all imagine moving houses is always a bit crazy and moving abroad is even more time-consuming. So I decided that I will take a little summer break and start blogging again when we will be in our new home. My partner won´t start his new job until fall and as we originally planned the world trip before the pandemic hit, we will do some travelling before we rent a new place. The trip won´t be as big as the original one was planned and we probably stay mainly in Europe, but I´m still happy that we will get some time together just the two of us. The last year, my partner did an intensive MBA program, which was even on the weekends, so we are both looking forward to some relaxing time before the new life chapter starts.
We haven´t found an apartment yet, so I hope it won´t take too long. Nevertheless, our apartment in the Chateau de Fleury will always keep a special place in my heart and I will for sure miss it a lot. Last year we lived in this old castle in a tiny french village, which is surrounded by a big forest. Even though I´m happy to move back to a bigger city, I will always love our first home together.

As I actually don´t know yet 100%, which of the places we will move to, I thought it would be fun to let you guess.

So now it is up to you: Where do you think should I live next?

Lots of love,

  1. I totally understand.
We also move aboard a lot because of my husband’s job and I know how difficult and stressful it can gets.
We should be moving out in February so it’s gonna come fast as well.
Wish you all the best for your new place.
You have a lot of different options. Personally I think I would pick Switzerland. It looks so beautiful there.
But Chile sounds like a whole adventure.

  2. Hello Tiziana, I hope you’re doing well and that summer is treating you nice 🙂

Sad to hear that you won’t be posting for a bit but breaks are necessary, specially when big things are happening in our lives and of course moving from one country to another is a big hustle…. even moving inside the same city is tedious, so I can imagine that you have a lot of work to do, so good luck 🙂

I think all the options sounds good, but I’d pick the Netherlands, since it has the perfect balance among funny-entertaining options and tranquility. But also Chile sounds like a really different adventure…. maybe is that one? 🙂

All the best and good luck!

  5. Oh wow!! super different countries! I totally understand that you have to take some time from blogging to be able to choose properly and prepare the moving. I wish you the best!

    1. I loved living in Chile. We are actually here for 3 weeks now visiting some family of my boyfriend and I always love being in Chile. It´s such a nice place and I could imagine myself moving back here again.
